About Raifort Properties

In 1866, the Willaredts made their way from Europe to the French community of St. Louis and took up farming on Chouteau Island. From the beginning, horseradish was one of the family's principal crops. Around 1960, the family moved to near the Village of Roxana and expanded their farming operation. Willaredt Farm soon gained a reputation as one of the largest horseradish producing enterprises in an area internationally known as "The Horseradish Capital of the World."

The land proved ideal for growing horseradish. As Madison County developed, the site of the Willaredt family farm offered new possibilities. With excellent access to interstate highways and to rail, air and water transportation, the farm site emerged as a prime location for business, and the concept of a commercial park was born.

Raifort Commerce Park, the vision of the Willaredt family, is now a reality and along with Northgate Business & Industrial Park in Granite City, IL, becomes the second industrial/commercial park owned and managed by the Willaredt family. Raifort reflects the Willaredt family's roots, and its logo symbolizes horseradish leaves.

Making the best use of the land has always been a guiding principle of the Willaredt family, and the Raifort Commerce Park continues this proud tradition. The 1,000-acre development, annexed to the Village of Roxana in 1989, anticipates every functional need for business.

Raifort. To members of the Willaredt family, the name means a century-long personal history of dedication, integrity, and accomplishment. To businesses locating in Raifort Commerce Park or Northgate Business & Industrial Park, Raifort Properties means unlimited potential for growth, assured by the Willaredt family's continuing commitment to excellence.
